This month we are pleased to feature a selection of drawings and sculptures by Oxford based artist Kate Hammersley. The pieces selected here illustrate the artist's overarching focus on the changing and evolving nature of the world around us.

Her practice seeks to represent this flux, with transient moments such as a lightning strike or a shifting horizon line becoming the inspiration for pieces which play on the viewer's perception of two and three dimensions, the visual and the tactile, the real and the implied.

Kate has a BA Hons and MA in Art and Art History and is an elected Associate Member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors. Since being selected to take part in Sotheby’s International Young Art programme she has exhibited nationally and internationally at the Elizabeth Foundation New York, the Royal British Society of Sculptors London, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and Oxford University Press as well as many other galleries.

In April 2016 a selection of the artist's drawings and photographs will be featured in a solo exhibition at Wolfson College, University of Oxford.
